With the widely publicized format changes in the Australian motorsport landscape brought on by the changes to local manufacturing, the biggest change will be coming to the V8 Utes category.
V8 Utes plans to run both the new ‘Ute of the Future’ platform as well as the previous generation starting at the Clipsal 500 in 2016. The two-tiered competition will be run for at least a year to phase in the new platform.
The competition will award separate titles for both generations of V8 Utes, and this will continue until all 32 competitors have swapped over to the new format.
